This rare limited edition Bowmore is from one of 12 casks commissioned by HRH Queen Elizabeth II. The distillery was reopened especially for her visit which took place in the 'silent season'. The stills were fired up and this whisky is the result of that occasion. The cask used for this bottling was given to master distiller John Thomas on his retirement and he had the special 'Bowmore still' shaped decanter designed to accompany this bottling.
The bottle of Bowmore is one of only 236 bottles and was personally presented to Michael at the Whisky Galore shop by John Thomas.
The bottle we have instore was Distilled: 19.08.1980; Bottled:05.07.2004; Cask No. 5777; Natural Cask Strength 52.6%.
