Situated near the very centre of Scotland not far from the waters of Loch Tay is the Aberfeldy distillery. Matured for at least 12 years in both ex-sherry and ex-american oak casks, it is smooth and sweet dram with tangy orange notes, hints of vanilla (ice cream or custard) and honey and spice throughout. A very approachable single malt and a gentle introduction to the Highland whisky style.
