A rare and exciting treat from the good folk at North Star. This single cask bottling of Ardbeg distillery has been matured in a single Oloroso Sherry Butt for fourteen years before being bottled at the impressive cask strength of 60.8%. Rich coastal aromas of mussels and gravadlax sauce reach out of the glass, married with tangy meaty BBQ sauce. The palate is intensely smoky, with notes of soot, smoke and scorched earth which continue on and linger throughout the finish. Described by North Star's Iain Croucher as "Oppenheimer in a glass."
