Marking a decade of whisky making at the Ardnamurchan distillery, this new limited edition release was matured for ten years in first fill ex-bourbon barrels, with half of the batch undergoing a secondary 12 month maturation in Paul Launois ex-Champagne barriques. Made from unpeated barley, the nose opens with big tropical notes of juicy mangoes, pineapples, figs and banana. Sweet confectionery and desserty notes make an appearance as well, with hints of brown sugar, sticky honey, fruity wine gums and creme caramel. The palate bursts out with waxiness. The honey and pineapple notes make a reappearance, joined with warming spice, cedar and freshly baked gingerbread.
