The oldest bottling of Foursquare Rum to date, this eighteen year old expression was distilled in 2004 and 2005 and matured fully in ex Bourbon casks for ten years, before being vatted and reduced in strength and left to continue maturation for a further eight years. The nose opens up with a big hit of tropical sweetness. Juicy pineapple aromas, alongside ripe mango and cacao join with notes of freshly baked banana bread and boozy sultanas. The palate opens up with sweet chewy caramel sweetness, giving way to sweet dates, more juicy mango, and orange infused dark chocolate. The finish is delicate, dry and tannic, with notes of dried hazelnuts, black tea and herbal eucalyptus, with faint burned rubber and peppery ginger.
