Situated at the foot of the Kintyre peninsula in the historic whisky producing region of Campbeltown, Glen Scotia has had a bit of a make-over of late with the release of three impressive new expressions. This particular release is fully matured in specially selected American oak barrels for 15 long years in their Campbeltown warehouses before bottling. Delicate apricot and vanilla aromas develop towards a zesty fruit salad and subtle coastal note. On the palate there are intricate hints of ginger and spice which are complimented by rich vanilla and fruity notes. Adding water brings out caramelised fruit elements with a slightly drying finish.
