The Mull of Kintyre boasts a proud history in the art of Whisky production. Regarded as the Victorian World Whisky capital, Campbeltown was a bustling centre for whisky trade in the Victorian era. Today, only three distilleries stand in the "Wee Toon," with Glen Scotia being one of them. The Victoriana, bottled at natural cask strength and without colouring or chill filtration, is Glen Scotia's modern interpretation of a classic Victorian era Campbeltown whisky. A favourite amongst the WG team, we hope you enjoy this wee step back in time as much as we do!
The Victoriana is a very approachable introduction to the distillery style, quite fruity in nature with citrus hints and plenty of woody spice. They have finished off maturation in charred oak casks imparting an rich caramel vanilla and cocoa characteristic. Being bottled straight from the cask at 54.2%, a wee splash of water can really soften and develop those fruity notes.
