Lochlea 'Cask Strength' Batch 1 60.1%

This new whisky from Lochlea marks a significant milestone for the distillery, being their first ever cask strength release. Lochlea describe the experience as like being in their warehouses sampling directly from the wood, with ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks selected for this batch. Boozy fruit punch leads the nose, with earthy unlit cigar and coffee bean richness. The fruity flavours continue on the palate, joining orange syrup and nutty, cereal notes, lingering on oak shavings to finish.
