This single cask offering from Tamdhu distillery has been matured for ten years, with three years in a Pedro Ximenez puncheon. Rather funky on the nose, there are earthy aromas to begin, alongside tangy balsamic notes, the fruit arrives later, with aromas of raisins, apricots and baked apples wafting up from the glass. The cask influence makes itself immediately known on the palate. Super sweet, beginning with demerara sugar, creme brulee and molten dark toffee sauce, followed with rich honeycomb alongside semi-sweet dark chocolate and marinated sultanas, finishing with spicy cinnamon and nutmeg notes
