An exciting new release from the Torabhaig distillery, and the first cask strength release to hit the shelves at Whisky Galore. With a whopping 78+PPM spirit phenol rating and 22.8 PPM phenol rating post maturation, this expression is one for the 'peat freaks.' The nose opens up with sweet oaky vanilla and punchy beach bonfire smoke, cigar boxes and lemon peel. The bonfire smoke lingers on, while sweet malty aromas are introduced with time in the glass. Peat dominats the inital palate, coating the mouth with coastal phenolic flavours, before citrus oils, hints of tropical fruits and vanilla undertones balance out the palate. The finish takes a sligtly floral turn, with notes of fresh orchard fruits, while coastal peat smoke lingers.
