Pokeno 'Solera La Ina Hogshead No. 121' DramFest 2025 Exclusive 52.1%

Made in collaboration between Whisky Galore's Michael Fraser Milne and Pokeno distillery's Matt Johns, the journey for this whisky began in 1923 when Hogshead No. 121 was manufactured at La Ina in Spain, then used to make fino sherry. The cask then made its way to Scotland, and was used to mature Scotch whisky for 30 years. In the 1950's, the cask, full of bulk whisky for blending, was sent to New Zealand, ending up in the Whisky Galore shop 50 years later as a display peice.

in 2023, Hogshead No. 121 was sent from Christchurch to Pokeno, where it was re-coopered and re-seasoned before being filled with mature Pokeno whisky that had previously matured in an a fresh PX sherry cask. The last influence on this dram was cask No. 121, with a final 6 months of maturation.

A rich aroma of sultanas, raisins and hazelnut chocolate joins notes of rum & raisin ice cream and orange peel. On the palate, the dark chocolate continues, with flavours of black forest gateau, soft spices, cinnamon and sultanas. The finish is long and rich.

Chosen in partnership with the Benromach distillery for DramFest 2025, this New Zealand exclusive release was bottled from a single first-fill ex sherry hogshead. Distilled from Benromach's lightly peated barley, this cask shows great balance between rich raisin sweetness and fragrant Christmas spices. A flash of struck-matches on the nose gives way to a dense and complex character of red fruits and berries, with clementine and raisin pudding. An integrated peat smoke runs through the heart of this dram, finishing with chocolate and a lasting oak spice.

Specially selected by the team at Whisky Galore and Adelphi for DramFest 2025, this Caol Ila marks one of the four exclusives for the event. Distilled in 2014 and matured for 10 years in an ex-sherry hogshead, this is a classic Caol Ila - wind-swept beachside bonfires evokes smoke and salt, joining a rush of rich toffee and earthy peat. The second release of Ardnamurchan's sherry cask release has been bottled from a parcel of 15 upeated ex-sherry Hogsheads and 10 peated ex Sherry casks. The deep mahogany colour shows these cask's influence, which comes through as awonderful medley of both sweet and savoury tones. The nose bursts with coastal bonfires, salted peanut brittle and ice cream and tangy sun dried tomatoes. The palate opens up with tarred ships rope, smoky bacon and sticky-sweet pork ribs, with hints of old motor oil.  

Marking a decade of whisky making at the Ardnamurchan distillery, this new limited edition release was matured for ten years in first fill ex-bourbon barrels, with half of the batch undergoing a secondary 12 month maturation in Paul Launois ex-Champagne barriques.  Made from unpeated barley, the nose opens with big tropical notes of juicy mangoes, pineapples, figs and banana. Sweet confectionery and desserty notes make an appearance as well, with hints of brown sugar, sticky honey, fruity wine gums and creme caramel. The palate bursts out with waxiness. The honey and pineapple notes make a reappearance, joined with warming spice, cedar and freshly baked gingerbread.

This new release from Ardnamurchan sees unpeated spirit married with a parcel of 22 ex bourbon casks for five years before undergoing a two and a half year finish in a selection of ex Sauternes casks. There are notes of apricot jam on buttery brioche toast, flaked almonds, dried stone fruits, heather honey and peppercorn sauce. With a long and drying finish.

The fifth edition of GlenAllachie's 21 year old single malt, this out-turn was bottled at the natural strength of the combined five sherry casks, at just 49.2%. Utilizing only the finest ex Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks, sourced directly from Spain,  it promises rich, full bodied sherried tones. Aromas of Brandy soaked honeycomb waft out of the glass, joined with molasses tart, spiced blood orange and bursts of cocoa, followed by black winter truffle and caramelised brown sugar. Rich chocolate, warm baking spices and clementine zest coat the palate wonderfully, followed by rich molasses, orchard fruits and crystalised ginger and concluding with a rich finish of black cherries and raisin butter.

A new exciting release from Kilchoman distillery, this expression see's the much loved 'Sanaig' turned up to ten. Utilizing the same cask recipe as the standard bottling, this expression is bottled without dilution and at the combined natural strength of the casks, a whoping 57.8%. Toffee sweetness and rich dark fruit aromas leap out of the glass, with background notes of red berries and smoked oak. The palate consists of rich intense sweet notes of spiced chocolate, raisins, liquorice and rich sweet peat smoke which lingers on throughout the finish alongside sweet spiced fruit.

The Springbank distillery remains one of the most iconic and sought-after in the world, with collectors and drinkers alike seeking out this distinctive Campbeltown single malt. This expression offers an incredibly rare opportunity to try an independently bottled Springbank, selected by Elixir Distillers under their Director's Special range. Matured for 25 years in a single refill bourbon barrel, the cask yielded only 142 bottles.

Part of the famous Family Cask series from Glenfarclas, this new release comes from cask #2669, distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2023. Coming in at 60.9% natural cask strength, this will offer the traditional Glenfarclas flavours of rich fruit puddings, drying oak flavours and a bracing kick of peppery, warm spices. The nose greets you with notes of rich stewed fruits and hints of tanned leather, showing clear cask influence. The palate offers up notes of dried figs and lashings of black pepper with rich toffee and sturdy oak notes. The finish is lingering with dry spicy notes and hints of tobacco leaf.

Matured for a total of 14 years, the deep rich colour hints at the influence of the PX cask. The nose is an abundance of stewed fruits, with a base of malt sweetness and gentle spice The palate is rich and luxurious, unfurling with notes of dates, dark chocolate and hints of sweet nutmeg and cinnamon spice, lingering sweet spiced fruit notes of sherry soaked raisins and spicy oak.   

Hailing from an undisclosed distillery from Scotland's far Northern Orkney Islands. This punchy Oloroso cask matured Orchadian starts off with a huff and puff of coastal turfy peat smoke, much more than one would expect from this distillery. wafts of heather, leather and hot coals emerge on the nose. The palate showcases the sherry wood influence wonderfully, with rich boozy fruits and soft sweet spice balancing perfectly with the thick coal smoke and lighter notes of sticky honey and burned lime. the sooty peat continues on through the finish, combined with waves of sherried fruit and honey.

This single cask expression from Berry Brothers and Rudd showcases everything there is to love about Caol Ila, with the perfect balance between distilate and cask influence. Bottled from a single Oloroso Hogshead, this expressio opens up on the nose very clean. There are notes honey, green herbs, wafts of gentle coastal smoke, and Caol Ila's signature banana note. Dry Ashy smoke bursts out on the palate, joined with sweet honey and cooling menthol notes. Building up towards the finish, there are intense fruity and smoky notes that linger on and on.   

This single cask expression from Knockdhu distillery has been bottled from a refil Hogshead, and showcases a traditional approach to the lighter side of Speyside expressions. The nose opens with dry nutty notes that become more apparent with time in the glass, alongside notes of green fruits and banana bread fresh out of the oven. The palate is equally complex, with a marriage of fruits, wood spice and more of the distillate forward nuttiness, with a lovely and full mouthfeel. Hints of green tobacco and burts of citrus and honeyed sweetness round out the finish on this stellar Speyside classic.

This single cask expression from the Elgin classic that is Glen Moray has been bottled from a single American Oak barrel, resulting in a wonderfully light and sweet dram. Notes of banana milkshakes and praline icecream burst out of the glass to meet the nose, along with rich marzipan, and ripe fruit notes of cherry and apricot emerging with time in the glass. The palate continues on with the banana notes, however dried this time, along with sweet wheat and complex waves of vanilla pods, sweet oak and cereal grains. The finish is long, smooth and sweet, giving dustings of cocoa, rice pudding and syrupy fruit salad.

This expression from Bowmore distillery showcases the unique style of old Islay whisky, with a delicate balance between rich, sweet and smoky notes. Bottled after 25 years in a refill barrel, yielding 280 bottles, the nose opens up with  earthy and herbal aromas, followed by sweet scents of toasted macaroons and rum baba layered over Bowmore's signature sweet peat. Sweet, tangy fruit notes of cranberries and peaches combine with spicy cinnamon and cracked pepper notes on the palate, followed with hints of soft peat and bog myrtle. After a quarter of a century in the same refill barrel, the distillery character  is very much to the fore.

This expression from Royal Brackla distillery has been matured for seventeen years, with a four year finish in a refill re-charred Hogshead. Presented at the cask's natural strength of 54.1%, this bottling showcases wonderful balance between distillate and cask influence.  The nose opens up with a complex mix of benzaldehyde and toasted oak, which dissipate allowing for aromas of sweet, salted popcorn and hints of rum and raisin fudge to waft through. The Palate displays a harmonious balance of distillate character and cask influence. There are soft and creamy notes of coconut ice cream and mellow vanilla custard notes intertwining with soft spicy tones of nutmeg and ginger.

This single cask bottling from Strathmill distillery has been slowly maturing for sixteen years, with just over two years of secondary maturation in a Pedro Ximenez Hogshead yielding 341. The nose on this dram is very dark and rich, with intense notes of fruit and nut chocolate dipped in rum, and very boozy trifle. The palate is heavy, rich and viscous, there are classic PX notes of muscovado sugar, stewed sultanas and gentle sweet spice, alongside pan-au-chocolate, praline and cinnamon scrolls coated with glaze.

This fifteen year old single cask offering from Glen Spey distillery has undergone a three year secondary maturation in a single Ruby Port hogshead, delivering rich fruity and gentle spice tones. The nose opens up with lovely red wine notes, alongside tangy fruity notes of cranberry juice and peaches, followed by hints of chewy strawberry sweets. The intense fruitiness brought forward by the Port cask continues on through the palate, with dried apricots, rhubarb crumble and juicy blood orange. Sweet notes of slivered almonds and rich Highland toffee balance perfectly with the vibrant fruity tones, complimented by dashes of spice lingering on the back of the palate. 

This single cask offering from Tamdhu distillery has been matured for ten years, with three years in a Pedro Ximenez puncheon. Rather funky on the nose, there are earthy aromas to begin, alongside tangy balsamic notes, the fruit arrives later, with aromas of raisins, apricots and baked apples wafting up from the glass. The cask influence makes itself immediately known on the palate. Super sweet, beginning with demerara sugar, creme brulee and molten dark toffee sauce, followed with rich honeycomb alongside semi-sweet dark chocolate and marinated sultanas, finishing with spicy cinnamon and nutmeg notes

This single grain expression from Strathclyde distillery in the Lowlands has been matured for nine years in an ex red wine hogshead. This expression is a textbook example of a single grain whisky. Sweet solventy aromas rush out of the glass, alongside an aldehylic burst of toasted coconut, battenburg cake alongside floral perfumy notes. The palate is vibrant and full of vigour, with slivered almonds, marzipan and cherry bakewells coating the palate, followed by cask forward notes of raisins, apricots and cranberries. Touches of pepper and demerara sugar linger on through the finish.

This 16 year old expression from Bladnoch distillery has been bottled from a parcel of Oloroso Sherry casks. The result is a rich, full bodied and slightly spicy dram, with notes of fruitcake, sweet cinnamon spice, dark chocolate stewed sultanas and zesty orange peel.

Alinta, an indigenous Australian word from several Southeast Australian language groups means ‘fire’ and ‘flames’. This expression has been bottled from a selection of  Pedro Ximminez Sherry and ex-bourbon casks which were married with sweet  peated spirit, a first from Bladnoch distillery. There are sweet smoky campfire notes along with white chocolate coated raisins, sugared almonds, sweet oak and light floral notes.  

This expression is the first expression from Lochlea Farm Distillery to carry an age statement. It has been matured for five years in a parcel of five hand selected casks, two of which date to Lochlea's first ever cask filling in August of 2018. the parcel is made up of two first fill ex Boubon Barrels, one first fill ex Oloroso sherry butt, one double matured ex Pedro Ximinez butt and one double matured ex Oloroso butt. There are notes of lush red grapes, raisins, lemon zest and pear cruble, along with hints of cracked black pepper and touches of delicate rose petals.

The palate is bright and bold, with candied lemons, cream filled doughnuts and a sweet pastry quality - like a bear claw or almond croissants. This is a weighty dram with a mouth-filling texture and a very moreish quality.

Bottled from a single first-fill American Standard Barrel, this Adelphi selection comes from the Deanston distillery situated just north of Glasgow. A malty, waxy character leads the aroma, with fruity notes of peaches and lime zest. On the palate, buttery and rich icing notes joins green apple and more citric notes of lemon-lime soda, giving this Deanston a lively and bright vibe.

This marks the first ever independently bottled Lochlea whisky from Adelphi. A wonderful example of the Lochlea style - fragrant and citric with vanilla custard, orange zest, lemon thyme and almond. A woodyness comes through on the palate with notes of birch, moving to berry compote and porridge qualities. A lively, tart and tangy finish rounds out this distinctly Lowland dram

Distilled in 2009 at the Linkwood distillery, this 15 year old Adelphi selection was bottled from a single re-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead. A rich aroma of freshly varnished furniture opens the nose, with clementine and birch leaf. The palate is fruity and round, with plum and lemon meringue notes on a mouth-coating texture that ends with a woody bitterness that invites another sip of the sweet initial flavours.

Adelphi's first ever bottling from the Loch Lomond distillery has been chosen from the distillery's 'Inchfad' spirit, which is heavily peated. A cracking combination of sticky fig, date and dark toffee runs through this dram, with an ever-present dense smokyness from the peat. The smoky quality is at times herbal then savoury, with singed honey glazed meats from a BBQ. The finish is nutty then salty and finishing sweetly from the PX sherry cask.

Bottled from a refill Oloroso sherry hogshead laid down at the Teaninich distillery in 2014, this 10 year old shows the distillery's sweet and viscous profile. The nose opens with a step in to an old-fashioned sweet shop - berry-flavoured hard boiled candies join candied grapefruit and red licorice, joining a sweet and grapey flavour like old dessert wines. The palate is rich and weighted with a satisfying length.

This is the first ever release of whisky from the Laing family's Ardnahoe distillery, founded in 2018 on the northern coastal reaches of Islay, Scotland. Aged for 5 years in a mixture of ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sherry casks, this whisky shows the character of the spirit made at the distillery, made in a traditional style that features wooden washbacks and the only worm tub condensers on the Island. Sweet and biscuity to start with shortbread and baked apple pie tones that are surrounded by thick Islay peat smoke. Creamy and full on the palate with a custardy quality, finishing spiced with hot ginger and a deep smokyness. Congratulations to the team at Ardnahoe for this fine new whisky.

Though a new distillery, its production techniques are time-honoured, featuring traditional worm-tub condensers not commonly seen on the island since the 1960's. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, there a no mistaking this whisky's origins - salty sea-spray, thick peat smoke and dark chocolate give way to fresh fruits, with wet bonfire notes lingering smoky and zesty to finish.

This single cask expression from Glenburgie distillery in Speyside was distilled in 2007 and bottled at natural cask strength after sixteen years of maturation in a single refill butt. The nose opens up with a cornucopia of fresh fruits, apricots, peaches and strawberries galore! The fruitiness continues on through the palate, however transitions to more dried fruits such as raisins and dried apples, rich sweet notes of honey and vanilla intertwine with the fruitiness wonderfully leading to a lingering finish of white pepper.

This single cask expression hails from the coastal gem that is Pulteney distillery, distilled in 2002 and matured for twenty one years in a single refill barrel, it was released to commemorate the launch of the Ardnahoe Single Malt. Notes of juicy apples, rich sticky toffee and meadow flowers waft from the glass as notes of golden syrup, cherries and creamy vanilla dance across the palate, with the sweetness lingering on towards the finish.

This bottling of Craigellachie was selected by Hunter Laing & Co from a single ex Sherry Butt that had been slowly maturing for sixteen years. Vibrant wafts of honey, chocolate and freshly cut straw greet the nose, while the palate is sweet and rich, with notes of juicy berries, creamy, rich vanilla and peaches, transitioning to a long and satisfyingly spicy finish. 

This expression from Benrinnes distillery has been selected by Hunter Laing & Co from a single refill Hogshead and released after sixteen years of maturation to commemorate the release of the Ardnahoe Single Malt Whisky. The nose opens up with strong and rich toffee aromas, hints of heather and ripe red fruits. The palate kicks off with Benrinnes's signature meatiness, along with light fruit notes and touches of pepper throughout. The finish is long and tounge tingling and the pepper notes linger on the palate long thereafter.  

This expression from Duncan Taylor, was distilled at an unknown iconic Speyside distillery, and aged for 12 years on oak, with a nine month finish in a single Octave, yielding just 89 bottles. It has been presented at cask strength (54.2%) and offers sweet sherry notes, candied sweets, sticky honey and powdered doughnuts alongside spritzes of pink grapefruit.

This single cask expression from Miltonduff distillery in Speyside has been matured for 12 years, with a six month finish in a single Octave cask yielding 93 bottles. Presented at the casks natural strength of 55.3%, this whisky offers pleasant gentle sherry notes, sticky, sweet honeycomb, freshly bakes scones with clotted cream and zesty orange notes.

This new release from Ardnamurchan sees unpeated spirit married with a parcel of 22 ex bourbon casks for five years before undergoing a two and a half year finish in a selection of ex Sauternes casks. There are notes of apricot jam on buttery brioche toast, flaked almonds, dried stone fruits, heather honey and peppercorn sauce. With a long and drying finish.

The fifth edition of GlenAllachie's 21 year old single malt, this out-turn was bottled at the natural strength of the combined five sherry casks, at just 49.2%. Utilizing only the finest ex Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks, sourced directly from Spain,  it promises rich, full bodied sherried tones. Aromas of Brandy soaked honeycomb waft out of the glass, joined with molasses tart, spiced blood orange and bursts of cocoa, followed by black winter truffle and caramelised brown sugar. Rich chocolate, warm baking spices and clementine zest coat the palate wonderfully, followed by rich molasses, orchard fruits and crystalised ginger and concluding with a rich finish of black cherries and raisin butter.

A new exciting release from Kilchoman distillery, this expression see's the much loved 'Sanaig' turned up to ten. Utilizing the same cask recipe as the standard bottling, this expression is bottled without dilution and at the combined natural strength of the casks, a whoping 57.8%. Toffee sweetness and rich dark fruit aromas leap out of the glass, with background notes of red berries and smoked oak. The palate consists of rich intense sweet notes of spiced chocolate, raisins, liquorice and rich sweet peat smoke which lingers on throughout the finish alongside sweet spiced fruit.

The Springbank distillery remains one of the most iconic and sought-after in the world, with collectors and drinkers alike seeking out this distinctive Campbeltown single malt. This expression offers an incredibly rare opportunity to try an independently bottled Springbank, selected by Elixir Distillers under their Director's Special range. Matured for 25 years in a single refill bourbon barrel, the cask yielded only 142 bottles.

Part of the famous Family Cask series from Glenfarclas, this new release comes from cask #2669, distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2023. Coming in at 60.9% natural cask strength, this will offer the traditional Glenfarclas flavours of rich fruit puddings, drying oak flavours and a bracing kick of peppery, warm spices. One of only 634 bottles produced.

Laid down in 1999, this 'Family Cask' release offers a glimpse into single cask that resided in the traditional dunnage warehouses of the Grants of Glenfarclas in Speyside, Scotland. At nearly a quarter century of maturation, you can expect flavours that are a medley of dried and red fruits, leathery tones and a deeply complex woody spice. There is a quality of antique furniture polish and woodworking on the nose, and an intensity of flavour that is extremely long-lasting in the finish.

Part of Berry Bro's and Rudd's Glens an Valleys collection, this single cask bottling from Glen Garioch Distillery in Inverurie has been matured for twelve years, with a finish in an ex Oloroso cask. The nose greets you with notes of rich stewed fruits and hints of tanned leather, showing clear cask influence. The palate offers up notes of dried figs and lashings of black pepper with rich toffee and sturdy oak notes. The finish is lingering with dry spicy notes and hints of tobacco leaf.

This bottling of single cask Glen Ord makes up part of Berry Bro's and Rudd's Glens and Valleys collection. Itwas distilled in 2007 and matured for sixteen years in a Hogshead cask, with and outturn of just 261 bottles. The nose of this Highland gem begins with a stroll though an autumnal orchard, with vibrant juicy fruits and earthy tones of roasted chestnuts. Dark cherries, plums and toasted nuts coat the palate creating a rich and elegant mouthfeel with a long and lingering finish of sweet spiced oak.

This expression of Glen Elgin whisky, bottled by Berry Bro's and Rudd as part of their Glens and Valleys collection has been matured for eleven years in a single Hogshead cask. The light straw colour hints to a fresh and floral profile. On the nose there are notes of sugared homemade short bread, fresh out of the oven, split vanilla pods and gentle wafts of orchard freshness. Notes of green apples and pears dance across the palate with a creamy texture. The finish is introduced with a hint of white pepper as the sweetness recedes, giving way to floral honey.

There are inviting aromas of crisp green apples and pears on the nose, with subtle hints of floral heather and wafts of vanilla hints at the casks influence. The palate is a harmonious marriage of sweet and spice, with notes of honey drizzled barley intertwined with sprinkles of white pepper and zesty touches of fresh lemon, transitioning flawlessly to a finish of sweet flaked almonds and oak spice.

This expression from Blair Athol distillery in Pitlochry has been selected from a single Pedro Ximenez Hogshead by Berry Bro's and Rudd. Matured for a total of 14 years, the deep rich colour hints at the influence of the PX cask. The nose is an abundance of stewed fruits, with a base of malt sweetness and gentle spice The palate is rich and luxurious, unfurling with notes of dates, dark chocolate and hints of sweet nutmeg and cinnamon spice, lingering sweet spiced fruit notes of sherry soaked raisins and spicy oak.   

Hailing from an undisclosed distillery from Scotland's far Northern Orkney Islands. This punchy Oloroso cask matured Orchadian starts off with a huff and puff of coastal turfy peat smoke, much more than one would expect from this distillery. wafts of heather, leather and hot coals emerge on the nose. The palate showcases the sherry wood influence wonderfully, with rich boozy fruits and soft sweet spice balancing perfectly with the thick coal smoke and lighter notes of sticky honey and burned lime. the sooty peat continues on through the finish, combined with waves of sherried fruit and honey.

This single cask expression from Berry Brothers and Rudd showcases everything there is to love about Caol Ila, with the perfect balance between distilate and cask influence. Bottled from a single Oloroso Hogshead, this expressio opens up on the nose very clean. There are notes honey, green herbs, wafts of gentle coastal smoke, and Caol Ila's signature banana note. Dry Ashy smoke bursts out on the palate, joined with sweet honey and cooling menthol notes. Building up towards the finish, there are intense fruity and smoky notes that linger on and on.   

This single cask expression from Knockdhu distillery has been bottled from a refil Hogshead, and showcases a traditional approach to the lighter side of Speyside expressions. The nose opens with dry nutty notes that become more apparent with time in the glass, alongside notes of green fruits and banana bread fresh out of the oven. The palate is equally complex, with a marriage of fruits, wood spice and more of the distillate forward nuttiness, with a lovely and full mouthfeel. Hints of green tobacco and burts of citrus and honeyed sweetness round out the finish on this stellar Speyside classic.

This single cask expression from the Elgin classic that is Glen Moray has been bottled from a single American Oak barrel, resulting in a wonderfully light and sweet dram. Notes of banana milkshakes and praline icecream burst out of the glass to meet the nose, along with rich marzipan, and ripe fruit notes of cherry and apricot emerging with time in the glass. The palate continues on with the banana notes, however dried this time, along with sweet wheat and complex waves of vanilla pods, sweet oak and cereal grains. The finish is long, smooth and sweet, giving dustings of cocoa, rice pudding and syrupy fruit salad.

This expression from Bowmore distillery showcases the unique style of old Islay whisky, with a delicate balance between rich, sweet and smoky notes. Bottled after 25 years in a refill barrel, yielding 280 bottles, the nose opens up with  earthy and herbal aromas, followed by sweet scents of toasted macaroons and rum baba layered over Bowmore's signature sweet peat. Sweet, tangy fruit notes of cranberries and peaches combine with spicy cinnamon and cracked pepper notes on the palate, followed with hints of soft peat and bog myrtle. After a quarter of a century in the same refill barrel, the distillery character  is very much to the fore.

This expression from Royal Brackla distillery has been matured for seventeen years, with a four year finish in a refill re-charred Hogshead. Presented at the cask's natural strength of 54.1%, this bottling showcases wonderful balance between distillate and cask influence.  The nose opens up with a complex mix of benzaldehyde and toasted oak, which dissipate allowing for aromas of sweet, salted popcorn and hints of rum and raisin fudge to waft through. The Palate displays a harmonious balance of distillate character and cask influence. There are soft and creamy notes of coconut ice cream and mellow vanilla custard notes intertwining with soft spicy tones of nutmeg and ginger.

This single cask bottling from Strathmill distillery has been slowly maturing for sixteen years, with just over two years of secondary maturation in a Pedro Ximenez Hogshead yielding 341. The nose on this dram is very dark and rich, with intense notes of fruit and nut chocolate dipped in rum, and very boozy trifle. The palate is heavy, rich and viscous, there are classic PX notes of muscovado sugar, stewed sultanas and gentle sweet spice, alongside pan-au-chocolate, praline and cinnamon scrolls coated with glaze.

This fifteen year old single cask offering from Glen Spey distillery has undergone a three year secondary maturation in a single Ruby Port hogshead, delivering rich fruity and gentle spice tones. The nose opens up with lovely red wine notes, alongside tangy fruity notes of cranberry juice and peaches, followed by hints of chewy strawberry sweets. The intense fruitiness brought forward by the Port cask continues on through the palate, with dried apricots, rhubarb crumble and juicy blood orange. Sweet notes of slivered almonds and rich Highland toffee balance perfectly with the vibrant fruity tones, complimented by dashes of spice lingering on the back of the palate. 

This single cask offering from Tamdhu distillery has been matured for ten years, with three years in a Pedro Ximenez puncheon. Rather funky on the nose, there are earthy aromas to begin, alongside tangy balsamic notes, the fruit arrives later, with aromas of raisins, apricots and baked apples wafting up from the glass. The cask influence makes itself immediately known on the palate. Super sweet, beginning with demerara sugar, creme brulee and molten dark toffee sauce, followed with rich honeycomb alongside semi-sweet dark chocolate and marinated sultanas, finishing with spicy cinnamon and nutmeg notes

This single grain expression from Strathclyde distillery in the Lowlands has been matured for nine years in an ex red wine hogshead. This expression is a textbook example of a single grain whisky. Sweet solventy aromas rush out of the glass, alongside an aldehylic burst of toasted coconut, battenburg cake alongside floral perfumy notes. The palate is vibrant and full of vigour, with slivered almonds, marzipan and cherry bakewells coating the palate, followed by cask forward notes of raisins, apricots and cranberries. Touches of pepper and demerara sugar linger on through the finish.

This expression from Bladnoch has been matured for 13 years in a parcel of hand selected ex-Bourbon barrels, resulting in a wonderful, light floral and sweet expression. There are notes of floral honey, freshly cut grass, juicy zesty citrus, fresh apples and touches of oaky spice. 

This 16 year old expression from Bladnoch distillery has been bottled from a parcel of Oloroso Sherry casks. The result is a rich, full bodied and slightly spicy dram, with notes of fruitcake, sweet cinnamon spice, dark chocolate stewed sultanas and zesty orange peel.

Alinta, an indigenous Australian word from several Southeast Australian language groups means ‘fire’ and ‘flames’. This expression has been bottled from a selection of  Pedro Ximminez Sherry and ex-bourbon casks which were married with sweet  peated spirit, a first from Bladnoch distillery. There are sweet smoky campfire notes along with white chocolate coated raisins, sugared almonds, sweet oak and light floral notes.  

This expression is the first expression from Lochlea Farm Distillery to carry an age statement. It has been matured for five years in a parcel of five hand selected casks, two of which date to Lochlea's first ever cask filling in August of 2018. the parcel is made up of two first fill ex Boubon Barrels, one first fill ex Oloroso sherry butt, one double matured ex Pedro Ximinez butt and one double matured ex Oloroso butt. There are notes of lush red grapes, raisins, lemon zest and pear cruble, along with hints of cracked black pepper and touches of delicate rose petals.

Inspired by the Autumn season on the farm at Lochlea, this seasonal release has been bottled from a batch of first fill Oloroso Sherry Butts.  The resulting whisky is warm, rich and inviting, with notes of stewed apples, medjool dates, Manuka Honey, fresh baked bread and cracked peppercorns. 

This seasonal release from Lochlea Farm Distillery takes inspiration from the annual barley harvest on the farm and is packed with rich summery flavours. There are notes of strawberry jam and clotted cream, along with rich white chocolate and freshly baked apple pie.

The second batch of Lochlea's limited cask strength expression sees the distillery's spirit married with a selection of ex Pedro Ximminez, Oloroso and STR casks. The result is a complex dram, bursting with rich notes of cooked apples, marmalade and peach syrup. lighter floral tones are also present, with notes of Rose petals and wild lavender

Offering an example of the less cask-driven profile of Blair Athol, this 13 year old Adelphi bottling is an explosion of fruit, with gooseberry, ripe apples and white grape notes. The palate is bright and bold, with candied lemons, cream filled doughnuts and a sweet pastry quality - like a bear claw or almond croissants. This is a weighty dram with a mouth-filling texture and a very moreish quality.

Bottled from a single first-fill American Standard Barrel, this Adelphi selection comes from the Deanston distillery situated just north of Glasgow. A malty, waxy character leads the aroma, with fruity notes of peaches and lime zest. On the palate, buttery and rich icing notes joins green apple and more citric notes of lemon-lime soda, giving this Deanston a lively and bright vibe.

This marks the first ever independently bottled Lochlea whisky from Adelphi. A wonderful example of the Lochlea style - fragrant and citric with vanilla custard, orange zest, lemon thyme and almond. A woodyness comes through on the palate with notes of birch, moving to berry compote and porridge qualities. A lively, tart and tangy finish rounds out this distinctly Lowland dram

Distilled in 2009 at the Linkwood distillery, this 15 year old Adelphi selection was bottled from a single re-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead. A rich aroma of freshly varnished furniture opens the nose, with clementine and birch leaf. The palate is fruity and round, with plum and lemon meringue notes on a mouth-coating texture that ends with a woody bitterness that invites another sip of the sweet initial flavours.

Adelphi's first ever bottling from the Loch Lomond distillery has been chosen from the distillery's 'Inchfad' spirit, which is heavily peated. A cracking combination of sticky fig, date and dark toffee runs through this dram, with an ever-present dense smokyness from the peat. The smoky quality is at times herbal then savoury, with singed honey glazed meats from a BBQ. The finish is nutty then salty and finishing sweetly from the PX sherry cask.

Bottled from a refill Oloroso sherry hogshead laid down at the Teaninich distillery in 2014, this 10 year old shows the distillery's sweet and viscous profile. The nose opens with a step in to an old-fashioned sweet shop - berry-flavoured hard boiled candies join candied grapefruit and red licorice, joining a sweet and grapey flavour like old dessert wines. The palate is rich and weighted with a satisfying length.

This is the first ever release of whisky from the Laing family's Ardnahoe distillery, founded in 2018 on the northern coastal reaches of Islay, Scotland. Aged for 5 years in a mixture of ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sherry casks, this whisky shows the character of the spirit made at the distillery, made in a traditional style that features wooden washbacks and the only worm tub condensers on the Island. Sweet and biscuity to start with shortbread and baked apple pie tones that are surrounded by thick Islay peat smoke. Creamy and full on the palate with a custardy quality, finishing spiced with hot ginger and a deep smokyness. Congratulations to the team at Ardnahoe for this fine new whisky.

Founded in 2018 by Stewart Laing and his sons of Hunter Laing & Co., Ardnahoe sits on the striking northern coast of Islay, looking out across Caol Ìle to Jura. Though a new distillery, its production techniques are time-honoured, featuring traditional worm-tub condensers not commonly seen on the island since the 1960's. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, there a no mistaking this whisky's origins - salty sea-spray, thick peat smoke and dark chocolate give way to fresh fruits, with wet bonfire notes lingering smoky and zesty to finish.

This single cask expression from Glenburgie distillery in Speyside was distilled in 2007 and bottled at natural cask strength after sixteen years of maturation in a single refill butt. The nose opens up with a cornucopia of fresh fruits, apricots, peaches and strawberries galore! The fruitiness continues on through the palate, however transitions to more dried fruits such as raisins and dried apples, rich sweet notes of honey and vanilla intertwine with the fruitiness wonderfully leading to a lingering finish of white pepper.

This single cask expression hails from the coastal gem that is Pulteney distillery, distilled in 2002 and matured for twenty one years in a single refill barrel, it was released to commemorate the launch of the Ardnahoe Single Malt. Notes of juicy apples, rich sticky toffee and meadow flowers waft from the glass as notes of golden syrup, cherries and creamy vanilla dance across the palate, with the sweetness lingering on towards the finish.

This bottling of Craigellachie was selected by Hunter Laing & Co from a single ex Sherry Butt that had been slowly maturing for sixteen years. Vibrant wafts of honey, chocolate and freshly cut straw greet the nose, while the palate is sweet and rich, with notes of juicy berries, creamy, rich vanilla and peaches, transitioning to a long and satisfyingly spicy finish. 

This expression from Benrinnes distillery has been selected by Hunter Laing & Co from a single refill Hogshead and released after sixteen years of maturation to commemorate the release of the Ardnahoe Single Malt Whisky. The nose opens up with strong and rich toffee aromas, hints of heather and ripe red fruits. The palate kicks off with Benrinnes's signature meatiness, along with light fruit notes and touches of pepper throughout. The finish is long and tounge tingling and the pepper notes linger on the palate long thereafter.  

This expression from Duncan Taylor, was distilled at an unknown iconic Speyside distillery, and aged for 12 years on oak, with a nine month finish in a single Octave, yielding just 89 bottles. It has been presented at cask strength (54.2%) and offers sweet sherry notes, candied sweets, sticky honey and powdered doughnuts alongside spritzes of pink grapefruit.

This single cask expression from Miltonduff distillery in Speyside has been matured for 12 years, with a six month finish in a single Octave cask yielding 93 bottles. Presented at the casks natural strength of 55.3%, this whisky offers pleasant gentle sherry notes, sticky, sweet honeycomb, freshly bakes scones with clotted cream and zesty orange notes.

This single cask expression was distilled at Glentauchers distillery in Speyside, and matured for 15 years with a nine month finish in a single Octave. The resulting out turn was just 82 bottles. Presented at cask strength (53.5%), this expression offers gentle sherry tones, alongside butterscotch, pomme puree, caramelised sugars and rich boozy fruitcake.

This whisky offers a marriage of sweet and salty notes, layered with classic Islay peat smoke. There are notes of smoked bacon, meyer lemon and hints of gentle warming spice.
